"Priske Stays Calm After Hard-Fought Feyenoord Win: 'I Hope Many Are Proud'"

After Feyenoord's thrilling 3-2 win, coach Brian Priske reflected on the team's fluctuating performances this season. He acknowledged that Feyenoord had played better in some games without securing a win but expressed satisfaction that things finally fell into place during this match.

Priske observed the back-and-forth nature of the game, particularly when the team struggled in the second half after Girona equalized at 2-2. An own goal by Ladislav Krejčí ultimately secured Feyenoord's victory. "It wasn’t perfect, but we got the three points this time," Priske said, praising his players for demonstrating the right mentality in a tough match.

He acknowledged the quality of the opponent, noting Girona's well-organized structure and strong coaching. Despite some "ugly" moments in the game, Priske commended his team's determination to push through.

This win comes at a crucial time for Priske, following a difficult start to the season and a heavy 0-4 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen. While recognizing the importance of the victory, Priske stressed that there is still significant work to be done. "It's a step in the right direction and good for morale," he added.

In addition, the win marks Feyenoord's first Champions League away victory since 2002, when they won against Newcastle United. "That's also great," Priske said, expressing hope that fans feel proud of the achievement.
